Posted 5/8/12- Residents impacted by proposed gas pipeline should seek legal advice.

The Center for Sustainable Rural Communities urges all residents who may be impacted by the proposed gas pipelines to:

  • Contact an attorney to determine the extent of your property rights in the face of a proposed pipeline project.
  • Contact your Town Supervisor to determine the proposed pipeline route(s) through your community.

We are receiving reports that In areas along the proposed pipeline route survey crews and other workers have been showing up and insisting they have access to private property. It is important that you understand your rights in face of this development. It is also important to note that this proposed pipeline has NOT yet received FERC approval and as such the ability of the pipeline company to access private property may be limited.

Call your attorney, know your rights, post your land and talk to your elected officials.
