Posted- 7/28/12- Cabot-Williams hosts pipeline “misinformation” meeting.

Cabot-Williams held an “informational” meeting at the Cobleskill Best Western motel. Instead of addressing the growing concerns of area landowners their representatives dispensed public relations sound bites and misinformation. C-W representatives were overheard reassuring a concerned resident that they have “completed an environmental impact study” despite the fact that pipeline routes have not been finalized, permits have not been granted and no such study has been undertaken. C-W representatives dismissed safety concerns saying that monitored “every inch of the pipeline” from a center that “looks like NASA Mission Control” despite the fact that the pipeline industry has a disturbing history of accidents and injury. The meeting was attended by 18-20 protesters from area citizen’s groups and scores of area landowners who were angry about the prospect of a pipeline through their properties and about the treatment they have already received from C-W.
