About Us

What is The Center for Sustainable Rural Communities?

We are formerly Schoharie Valley Watch (SVW), a 501 (C)(3) non-profit NY corporation. We are politically independent and do not endorse candidates. We work for open and responsive government, sound energy policies, sustainable environmentally low-impact economic growth and preservation of the rural character of our communities.

CSPC utilizes public education, community outreach and citizen activism as tools for change.

CSPC maintains an independent LEGAL DEFENSE FUND which is used to support legal action in response to threats to our communities from irresponsible development, poor government stewardship or environmental impacts.
